On July 16th, Kimbo Slice return to Bellator MMA in London to battle James Thompson.
The Bellator MMA president Scott Coker announced the brawler’s next fight last Sunday on SportsCenter. But that’s not all, MMA veterans Paul Daley and Josh Koscheck will be having a rematch of their UFC 113 bout. In which Koscheck won, but just seconds after, he was sucker punched in the chin by Daley… Kimbo will fight Thompson as a rematch for their Elite XC bout in 2008… The fight in which Slice was showcased and gained his first major popularity. Kimbo eventually won, TKO’ing Thompson in the third third round, The main cause for excitement came soon after the fight though, when the englishman’s ear exploded. Josh Thompson walked into the bout with some extreme cauliflower ear… It then was ruptured after he was hit over and over with Kimbo’s gloves in the 3rd round. The referee stopped it soon after. Slice has won 60% of his 5 fights after the beatdown with Thompson. His most recent bout being the knockout of Dhafir “Dada 5000” Harris at Bellator 149 this February. In which Harris’ heart literally stopped, Harris was technically dead until doctors managed to revive him… But the fun didn’t stop there, just hours later Kimbo was suspned for 90 days for testing positive for nandrolone, a performance enhancing drug. Thompson’s record is almost even, with 20 wins, 16 losses meanwhile and also is on a losing streak, losing two fights in row via brutal TKO most recently from Tsuyoshi Kosaka at Rizin FF in December and before that, Bobby Lashley at Bellator MMA 145… Paul Daley and Josh Koscheck had their famous bout at UFC 113 in which Koscheck won, but was then was delivered a blind-side punch from a furious Daley. Leading to his release from the UFC short after the fight. Daley is on a five fight winning streak won including four KOs, all of them ending in or before the second round, even beating Josh Neer, a former UFC star, with victories over legends such as Duane Ludwig, Mac Danzig and Extremely close fights with Nate Diaz, Gleison Tibau and Kurt Pellegrino… This will be Josh Koscheck’s first fight in Bellator MMA.
