“I’d totally step in to UFC 200” – Jon Jones is Ready

Jon Jones vs Daniel Cormier UFC 200

“I’d totally step in to UFC 200 and fill in that main event.” Jon Jones said this weekend… “Bones” originally was scheduled to battle UFC light heavyweight champ, Daniel Cormier on the 23rd of April at UFC 197, but a late injury to Cormier’s foot forced him out of fighting the bout with Jones and the canadian Ovince Saint Preux came through for the UFC and siad yes to fighting on such short notice.. The possibility of a Jones VS Cormier rematch definitely proves to be quite interesting, putting the extremely at-risk UFC 200 event in a less dismal condition considering great irishman Conor McGregor was pulled from the fight card by the heads of the UFC… However the date of July 9th may prove to be too much of a turnaround for the former champion Jones, being just a little bit less than three months time to prepare for, what some would say is his biggest fight ever… “I’m excited,” Jones says. “I’m excited to get back in there and to show some of the new fans why there’s so much hype around me, show some of the new fans why I’m number-one on that pound-for-pound ranking. I’m also excited to get out there and remind the old fans what I’m capable of. So, it’s a lot of pressure. A lot of pressure, for sure. By at the same time, I’m really just grateful, really just excited.” If the UFC can make the fight happen Jon Jones will have made history being the only fighter to compete at both UFC 100 and UFC 200 unless of course Welterweight great Georges St-Pierre returns to the ring, which is unlikely to happen in the next few months… “Is there anybody else who fought at both?” Jones wondered aloud. “I would love to be the only guy to fight at UFC 100 and 200.”
